Suspect arrested in double fatal stabbing outside Nashville bar, police say

Metro Nashville police said an argument over a woman led to the fatal stabbing of a Rhodes College student and the brother of an NFL player early Saturday morning.

A third man is in a hospital recovering.

Paul Trapeni, who studied at Rhodes College, was stabbed to death. The other victim who died, Clayton Beathard, has a brother, C.J., who plays quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, KNTV reported.

Clayton Beathard’s father is country musician Casey Beathard. His grandfather is NFL Hall of Fame executive Bobby Beathard.

The suspect, Michael D. Mosley, was arrested Wednesday in Cheatham County, the Metro Nashville Police Department said on social media.

Mosley will be charged with two counts of attempted criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide, police said.
