Video shows a dramatic rescue effort to save a deer that had fallen in a pond at a Florida country club

In a video posted to Facebook, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office shared footage of the rescue, which was conducted by Wildlife, Inc. Education & Rehabilitation Center, a nonprofit organization.

The sheriff’s office was called to Laurel Oak Country Club on Sunday after reports of two deer stranded in a pond.

The deputies contacted Wildlife, Inc. Education & Rehabilitation Center, who resuced a full-grown adult male deer from the pond. The second deer did not survive.

Deputies were called to Laurel Oak Country Club this morning for reports of two deer stranded in a pond. Unfortunately, one didn't survive but the other was trying his hardest to stay afloat. Deputies contacted Wildlife,Inc. Education & Rehabilitation Center who quickly responded and rescued the full-grown adult male. Here's a quick video capturing the event.
