Kidnapping probe leads Las Vegas investigators to different woman’s body in suitcase

Las Vegas police investigating an alleged kidnapping found the body of a different woman in a suitcase and have arrested a suspect in both cases, multiple news outlets reported.

Gary Walker, 55, has been charged with murder, first-degree kidnapping, six counts of sexual assault, and assault with a deadly weapon, the Reno Gazette Journal reported.

According to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police Department Thursday afternoon, an unidentified woman told authorities she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted in a home where another woman was killed. Her assailant was later identified as Walker, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The Clark County coroner's office has since identified the body of the woman homicide investigators later found in the suitcase at the home as 22-year-old Morgan Amaya. Her cause of death has been ruled a gunshot wound to the head, the Review-Journal reported.

Walker is being held without bail and is slated to next appear in court on Monday, the newspaper reported.
