"Filmed in the summer of 2019, 'Jesus Is King' brings Kanye West's famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Turrell's never-before-seen installation in Arizona's Painted Desert," IMAX said of the film, according to Rolling Stone.

“This one-of-a-kind experience features songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition along with music from his new album 'Jesus Is King' -- all presented in the immersive sound and stunning clarity of IMAX."

Over the weekend, West previewed the album and the documentary with listening parties at Detroit's Fox Theatre and in the Auditorium Theater of Roosevelt University in Chicago, Deadline reported. While in Chicago, Complex reported he made a surprise appearance at Chance the Rapper's show.

"I came here tonight to declare that Jesus Christ is king," West said before performing "All We Got" with Chance.

Variety reported that the album was announced last month by West's wife, beauty mogul and TV personality Kim Kardashian West, and was set for a Sept. 27 release. At the time, she tweeted the tracklist for the record.

Last week, she updated fans on the original release date and let them know the album is getting some final mixes and will be out Sunday. She also tweeted a revised tracklist.

At the time this story has been published, the album had not been released. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be released Oct. 25.
