An Arizona toddler was hurt Wednesday by what investigators believe was celebratory gunfire, police said.
According to KYMA and the Arizona Republic, the 3-year-old victim was in the backyard of a Phoenix home about 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve when a bullet fragment struck him, authorities said. Doctors expect him to recover, the news outlets reported.
Phoenix police have not yet made any arrests or released a suspect description in the case.
