Pelosi told Trump Wednesday he could not use the House chamber next week after the White House indicated Trump hoped to do so. After the bickering, both Pelosi and Trump agreed the speech should not be delivered until Congress and the president end the partial government shutdown.
“I think it’s childish,” Portman, R-Ohio, said on Fox News Wednesday. “It just escalates the partisanship that we already have in this town. It’s become a tit for tat thing, too. The president cancelled her airplane to see the troops. You know, we have to all take a step back here and get back to actually doing the people’s business.”
