12 streets will be re-paved this summer in Franklin

Franklin City Council on Monday approved a contract for its annual paving project that will include 12 streets and an alley.

Normac Company LLC was determined as submitting the lowest and best bid for the project at $325,646, which was $49,354 less than the engineer’s estimate of $375,000.

Three other companies submitted bids for the project.

The city will be re-paving the following streets this summer:

  • Spring Avenue, from Cedar Street to Maple Street
  • Forest Street, from Chestnut Street to Maple Street
  • Jackson Street, from South River Street to South Riley Boulevard
  • First Street, from South River Street to South Riley Boulevard
  • Third Street, from South River Street to South Main Street
  • Fourth Street, from South River Street to South Riley Boulevard
  • Fifth Street, from South River Street to South Riley Boulevard
  • Seventh Street, from South Main to Tibbals Street
  • Eighth Street, from South Main Street to western terminus
  • Tibbals Street, from Seventh Street to Eighth Street
  • Tibbals Lane, from Eighth Street to Tibbals Street

In addition, an alley north of Eighth Street will also be re-paved.
