Springfield man accused of slicing wife’s throat indicted on charges

A Springfield man accused of slicing his wife’s throat was indicted on charges in Clark County Monday.

Raymond Roberts, 42, was indicted on one count of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault, according to court records.

The victim, Roberts’ wife, was stabbed in the neck Sept. 20, but was able to get in a car and drive from their home, according to deputies. She crashed into a convenience store on Springfield-Xenia Road shortly after the incident, investigators said.

Roberts was on the run for two days until he led law enforcement officers on a pursuit that ended with his arrest on Sept. 22.

He is scheduled for an initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon, according to court officials.
