A man was killed today in an apparent farming accident in Morgan Twp., according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
The 71-year-old man was found pinned between a spike of a skid loader and a pole on a George Road farm, according to Detective Joe Ventre.
The man was found by his wife, and emergency units were dispatched about 11:15 a.m. A medical helicopter was placed on standby, but the man died at the scene. The Butler County Coroner’s office was called to the scene.
Ventre said it appeared the man was preparing to move a round bale when the incident happened.
“He was crushed,” Ventre said. “A freak accident.”
