Each year, the Warren County Career Center opens its doors to the community to offer a day of family fun at its annual Community Day. On Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., visitors to the campus, located at 3525 N. State Route 48 in Lebanon, will be treated to a plant sale, heavy equipment exploration, a cruise-in, free food and entertainment, and much more.

The annual landscape plant sale will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. This popular event features annual and perennial bedding plants, just in time for spring planting and Mother's Day. All proceeds from sales go toward student learning activities in the landscape program.

Experience services such as mini-manicures in the school's cosmetology salon, and drop off old appliances for disposal and Freon removal at the HVAC lab, while learning more about the school. There also will be children's activities for the younger set, including building a miniature log cabin with carpentry students.

Enjoy entertainment in the Commons from a number of school and community musical groups. Free hot dogs and hamburgers, courtesy of Sodexo, will be available.

Outside, you can explore a real fire truck and try out a fire hose, and see many pieces of heavy equipment, including large dozers and a bucket truck. All the equipment on display is used for training by WCCC students in the fire science, public safety and heavy equipment programs. Weather permitting, medical helicopters will land at the school, as well.

Be sure to check out classic cars and antique tractors at the cruise-In and tractor display, too.

Area community organizations will have information on services. The Warren County Veterans Outreach coach will be there, and veterans are encouraged to bring their discharge to get a free veterans' ID card.
