Fairfield’s Koch Foods to hire up to 125

Koch Foods, which employs about 900 employees at its facility in Fairfield, is looking to hire approximately 100 to 125 more, according to company officials.

The new hires comes as a result of the company implementing a new production line, according to Wrai Fite, human resources manager for the poultry processor and food product manufacturer.

Koch Foods is hiring general laborers, production stackers, machine operators, packaging operators and grinding operators for the first and second shifts; quality assurance techs for the second shift; forklift operators for the second and third shifts and sanitation techs for the third shift.

Each position is a full-time job with starting pay ranging from $10 to $12.40 an hour, Fite said. Starting pay depends on the position and shift, she said.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check and be able to work in cold temperatures.

Koch Foods also is holding a hiring event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at OhioMeansJobs-Butler County, 4631 Dixie Highway, Fairfield.

Walk-in applications are being accepted at the business at 4100 Port Union Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Continued growth has solidified Koch Foods place as one of the city's largest employers.

“Koch has been working on a major, multi-million dollar expansion over the past few years,” said Greg Kathman, Fairfield’s economic development manager. “Hundreds of new employees have been added since the expansion started, and it’s exciting to hear that even more jobs will be added this year for the new production line.”
