Employee killed after truck crashes into ER entrance of Columbus-area hospital

A pickup truck crashed into the emergency room entrance at a Columbus-area hospital, killing a long-time worker at the hospital and injuring two others, according to our news partners at WBNS-TV in Columbus.

The crash happened at the Diley Ridge Medical Center in Canal Winchester, located southeast of Columbus in Fairfield County, around 9:45 a.m. Friday.

A hospital representative confirmed the deceased person was an employee of the hospital, the station reports.

Two other people were injured in the crash but their conditions were not released.

The driver of the pickup truck has been taken into custody. Investigators said there appears to be no indication the truck attempted to brake before hitting the building.
