Hamilton police warn of utility scam

Hamilton Police are warning residents about someone calling people and demanding that they pay their delinquent utility bills or their utilities will be turned off.

Police say it’s a scam. Several people have called and walked into Hamilton’s Utilities Department office today to complain about the scam. According to police, the callers are pretending to be utility workers. Officers advise residents to never give out any sensitive information over the phone, including bank account numbers.
