Franklin student, 11, enters plea to reduced charge in school assault

An 11-year-old girl admitted to an amended charge of disorderly conduct for an incident Nov. 22 at Pennyroyal Elementary School in Franklin Twp.

Franklin police were contacted by the school principal who reported the girl confronted another girl and began punching the victim numerous times in the head and face until teachers pulled them apart. Police took the girl into custody and took her to the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center where she was fingerprinted and charged with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.

On Thursday, the girl admitted true to an amended charge of disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, according to court records.

The court counseled and admonished the girl of the possible court dispositions should she return to court. In addition, the no contact order remained in full force and effect, according to court records. A violation of the judgment order may result in confinement of 90 days at the juvenile detention center, according to court records.

The girl no longer attends school in the Franklin City School District, according to officials.
