UPDATE @ 4 p.m.:

West Chester fire crews discovered a fire in the attic space of an apartment, according to Fire Chief Rick Prinz.

All of the apartments were evacuated.

Three people suffered smoke inhalation and one of those people suffered minor burns, according to Prinz. All three — who were described by the fire chief as younger adults — were transported to West Chester Hospital, he said.

Due to wind conditions, the fire spread “very quickly,” Prinz said.

No cause has been determined, he said.

As many as 10 families have been displaced by the fire, according to Prinz.
