An 88-year-old man driving a 1995 red Chevrolet Camaro ran a red light in the lane next to a patrol officer’s cruiser, police said. As the man drove into the intersection, his Camaro was struck by a 2022 Ford F-150 being driven by a 63-year-old man.
The 88-year-old man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the Camaro. The Ford F-150 also rolled over due to the crash, police said.
The 88-year-old man was transported to West Chester Medical Center with severe, life-threatening injuries, police said. After he was medically stable, he was flown via medical helicopter to UC Medical Center.
Police said the driver of the F-150 had non-life-threatening injuries. He was also transported to West Chester Medical Center for treatment.
Police said they do not believe alcohol and drugs are factors in the crash, but they do suspect a potential medical condition may have led him to drive into the intersection.
Anyone with additional information about the crash is asked to call the Fairfield Township Police Department at 513-887-4406 or contact Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
