Tips from residents lead to arrest of 2 suspects in Fairfield shooting

Josue Alexander Vargas, 21, and Edvin Jorellana Rodas, 21, are charged with aggravated robbery and are expected to appear in Fairfield Municipal Court this week, according to police.

The duo allegedly were involved in the shooting of Austin Ford, 18, of Hamilton, on Billy Circle at about 9 p.m. Dec. 5 , according to a Fairfield police report.

Approximately $300 and a cell phone were stolen from Ford during the robbery, police said.

Police said those who called in tips on the whereabouts of the two men contributed to quickly bringing them into custody.
