Police investigating Monday night shooting in Middletown

A man was shot Monday night in a car on Eighth Avenue in Middletown, according to police.

Datreal Calhoun, 27, of Middletown, was shot in the leg at about 8:07 p.m. near the corner of Eighth Avenue and Lincoln Street, according to Maj. David Birk. He and others in the vehicle drove to Orchard Street and Roosevelt Avenue, where they flagged down police.

Birk said Calhoun was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have no suspects, and the victim is not being “100 percent cooperative” with the investigation, Birk said. Detectives were back out Tuesday canvasing the area for evidence and information.
