Obeng was one of two people taken to the hospital following a crash in the 8500 block of Beckett Road reported at 5:40 p.m. in West Chester Twp. involving a car and a township ambulance returning from a trip to take a patient to the hospital, officials said.
The car flipped onto its roof.
The coroner’s office said Obeng was pronounced dead at 6:12 p.m. Jan. 5, a little more than half an hour after the crash occurred.
The preliminary cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, according to the coroner’s office.
West Chester Twp. said the other occupant of the car was seriously injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
