Chance of showers, snow to start today; rain expected starting early tomorrow

Today we will start out with a chance of showers, with a chance for some snow in the northern counties of the Miami Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The band of light precipitation is expected to move out of the area by noon for a dry afternoon and below-normal temperatures, the NWS said.

Skies will be cloudy with a high near 46 degrees.

The calm weather will last through much of the night, but the NWS said this would just be the lull before the storm as rain chances quickly rise in the pre-dawn hours on Wednesday, making rain likely by around 6 a.m.

Overnight, temperatures will fall to around 39 degrees.

Tomorrow will be slightly warmer, with highs around 58 degrees and showers expected all day. We will see some breezy conditions, with some wind gusts as high as 24 mph.

Rain chances will linger overnight, although chances are expected to fall quickly after around 9 p.m.

Around the same time, the NWS said it expects winds to pick up, with gusts up to around 33 mph.

Meanwhile, starting soon after dark, the NWS also predicted a slight chance of thunderstorms, which will linger along with rain chances until the early hours of Thursday morning.

Overnight temperatures will fall to around 48 degrees.

Thanksgiving Day will be much calmer with cloudy skies and a high near 53 degrees, followed by a cloudy night with a low around 44 degrees.
