2 Butler County students from separate schools charged with making social media threats

Two students, one from Lakota East Freshman School and one from Edgewood Freshman School, have been charged with making threatening social media posts, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

The students were charged Sunday in Butler County Juvenile Court with misdemeanor inducing panic in separate, unrelated incidents.

“One juvenile posted a video of a gun and the other student’s post stated he had ‘murder on his mind,’” said Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones. “We will file criminal charges every time something like this happens.”
