Second lady Karen Pence arrived Thursday afternoon in Tipp City to campaign for President Donald Trump and her husband, Vice President Mike Pence.

“We didn’t want to pass up this chance to say to Ohio we need four more years of Donald Trump. And Mike Pence, of course," she told the crowd at Cedar Springs Pavilion. "You know they are a great team. They really are a great team and under their leadership we will keep moving in the right direction.”

The second lady’s motorcade arrived about 2:45 p.m. She initially was scheduled to appear at 1 p.m. but explained that plane issues caused the delay leaving from the capital.

"Thank you so much for coming later and adjusting. It means so much to us because we are really pumped to be here in Ohio today.”

Lisa Davidson, wife of Congressman Warren Davidson, a Troy Republican, was with her.

About 100 people were sitting and standing as they waited to hear Pence, who gave a 26-minute speech that was energetic and upbeat.

She said Ohio said yes to Trump in 2016 and they need Ohio to say yes once more.

She called Trump a visionary leader who is helping “a great American comeback.”

She said leadership matters and Trump’s economy added huge numbers of new jobs in Ohio.

She said Biden would raise taxes and destroy the economy.

More than 60 people initially were allowed inside the pavilion to wait for the event to start.

Karen Pence is among the latest to make a campaign stop in the Buckeye State. Her husband spoke Wednesday evening at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, and President Trump announced Thursday that he will speak at a rally Saturday in Circleville.

Ivanka Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden also visited Ohio last week, and Donald Trump Jr. made an appearance at the end of September at Cedar Springs Pavilion in Tipp City.
