>> 5 reasons we just can't wait to see The Lion King
Don’t Get Duped
The ONLY place to truly buy tickets for the Lion King at the Schuster Center is through Ticket Center Stage or by calling 937-228-3630 and speaking with an authorized ticket agent. Scalpers come out in droves for shows like this. Fake domains are purchased just to try to trick patrons into purchasing through the phony channels. You'll be charged upwards of three times the ticket price, sometimes for seats that don't even exist. If in doubt, stop by the box office inside the Schuster Center, and they'll be happy to help you.
Student Rush & $25 Tickets
Word to the wise: it will not cost you over $100 a seat to see this internationally renowned show. There are $25 seats available each weeknight (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) performance, but act quickly because those have been selling out about a day before each discounted performance. If you’re a student, there’s student rush this first week of the run — half off tickets day of show box office only with a valid student ID (with some exclusions). One ticket per student ID. It's unclear if this deal will be extended, so it's better to get going now while the going’s still good.
Get Your Seats NOW
While the show isn’t quite sold out, tickets are still moving fast. The best seating availability is the last two weeks of the show, Victoria Theatre Association spokeswoman Diane Schoeffler-Warren said. But don’t wait until too long to snag some super seats. If the last time the show was in town five years ago is any indication, tickets won’t be around for much longer.
Freebies & Discounts
Who doesn’t like free stuff? Each Friday is #freestufffridays. Visit the Victoria Theatre Association table in the Wintergarden to sign up for opportunities to win free merchandise straight from the show. Entries are accepted starting at 7 p.m. until 7:20 p.m., with the drawing at 7:30 each and every Friday night of the show. To top it off, Uno Chicago Grill is giving away a free mini-dessert on Fridays to patrons who stop by after the show and show their ticket stubs. If you’d rather dine at the Schuster Center at Citilites, they’re both featuring a special “bug juice” cocktail, and if you order a dessert, you will receive a special chocolate from Friesinger’s Chocolates.
