"Having heard the investigation will be wrapping up soon, Jeff has decided to stay on vacation," a CBS News spokesman told CNN.
Fager was part of a story in The New Yorker last month that included allegations that the longtime head of the newsmagazine made unwanted advances and enabled harassment by others in positions of power at the newsmagazine, CNN reported.
Fager has denied the allegations.
