Amazon’s fulfillment center in Monroe — a plan local officials and developers referred to as Project Big Daddy — is just months away from opening and bringing more than 1,000 full time jobs to the region.
A behind-the-scenes tour of the 1-million-square-foot facility on Tuesday evening showed the massive scale of the project, the online giant’s fourth Ohio fulfillment center.
Located near Interstate 75 at 700 Gateway Blvd. in Park North at Monroe, the facility will house employees who will pick, pack and ship larger customer orders such as sports equipment, patio furniture, gardening tools, kayaks and pet food.
