FIRST REPORT: Man, 83, robbed by bicyclist at Smith Park
On Thursday, a Middletown woman told police a man on a bicycle stole her wallet while she was leaving Marsh’s Supermarket, 621 N. University Blvd.
After the robbery, two witnesses chased the suspect who jumped off his bicycle and ran away, according to the police report.
The alleged robber stole the woman’s Vera Bradley wallet that contained a driver’s license, insurance cards, two credit cards, food stamp card and child support card, according to the police report.

Police were also called to the area of North Verity Parkway and Reinartz Boulevard on Saturday evening after a Middletown woman said a man on a bicycle tried to steal her purse.
She said a man riding a black bicycle came from behind her and attempted to pull her purse off her shoulder. But she held onto her purse and prevented it from getting stolen, according to the police report.
Police were unable to find anyone matching the suspect’s description.
