Woodhouse Kitchen + Bar plans to open this month in the former Bob Evans location at 2629 Water Park Drive in Mason, just off Interstate 71.

The new restaurant, which expects to hold a grand opening by the end of the month, will feature a seasonally evolving menu by Executive Chef Matthew Schroeder, who brings 17 years of experience to the restaurant.

Woodhouse’s menu will mix traditional European cuisine, including the Russian, German, French and Turkish fare, with New American cooking methods and techniques. It will feature items like kebabs, perogies, octopus, coq au vin, beef stroganoff, whole Branzino fish and freshly made bread.

All dishes will be made using high-quality, locally sourced, fresh ingredients.

The European comfort-food angle is derived from owner and Moscow, Russia native Yury Pivor, who previously owned Oasis Grill in Symmes Twp. Pivor said Woodhouse Kitchen + Bar is “a place for people to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays or simply a night out with friends.”

“We’re also family friendly,” he said. “If guests bring their kids, we have great food options for them, too.”

The restaurant is coming to the end of a nearly year-long renovation, one that features an ample amount of stonework and woodwork, some of it purchased from the now-closed Brazenhead Irish Pub.

There’s also a cocktail lounge and a full bar complete with a broad range of wine, beer and liquor selections, plus live entertainment and two patios – one of which is dedicated to cigar and hookah smoking.

The new restaurant’s decor pays tribute to the aviation background of Pivor’s family. Also part of the decor is Dave Rickerd’s 3-D artwork: an 8-foot foam-based cigar that actually smokes from the “ashes.”

Woodhouse Kitchen + Bar will be open Tuesdays through Sundays for dinner and bar hours. For information on jobs, visit
