New comic book store opening in Hamilton

The next great comic book illustrator may be discovered locally.

In addition to a wide variety of new and used comic books, as well as new and used toys and gaming, such as Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon, Future Great Comics will feature the work of local comic book artists.

“I’m trying to do something different from other stores where I can support the community, local art and comic book artists and kind of help them get their art out in the world,” owner Brian LeVick told the Journal-News. “I already have someone displaying from the get-go. It’s kind of giving back. I mean, you never know who will be the next big Marvel artist or DC artist, but someone always needs a start.”

Future Great Comics plans to hold a ribbon-cutting and soft opening at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at 528 Main St. in Hamilton. A grand opening complete with goody bags is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 8, according to LeVick.
