Beavercreek man killed in I-75 crash in Kentucky

Hamilton couple among the injured in Sunday accident.

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. — A Beavercreek man was killed and his wife injured along with two other Ohioans in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County on Sunday.

The Kentucky State Police said three tractor-trailers and four passenger cars collided about 4 p.m., resulting in the death of Keith E. Holbrook, 55, of Springhill Road in Beavercreek.

Roberta Butler, 74, and Mitch Butler, 75, both of Hamilton, along with Holbrook’s wife, Teresa Holbrook, 55, were flown by medical helicopter to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening. UK Medical Center officials said Monday that all three were no longer at the hospital.

Keith Holbrook, a UK graduate, was a father of four daughters who all attended the school and participated in athletics. Teresa Holbrook is a sixth grade science teacher at Ferguson Middle School in Beavercreek. Her family confirmed Monday that she is recovering from her injuries. It is unknown where the couple was travelling when the crash occurred about 50 miles south of Lexington, Ky.
