Talawanda High School has announced the hiring of Chris Coles as the school’s new head boys basketball coach.

Coles received school-board approval last Thursday to replace Eddie Glaser at the Braves’ helm. Glaser was 12-34 in two seasons as head coach.

Coles is the son of the late Charlie Coles, the longtime basketball coach at Miami University.

Chris Coles has coached at multiple schools, including Talawanda and Ross at the prep level and Saginaw Valley State and Olivet (Mich.) at the collegiate level.

As the head coach at Olivet, Coles was 23-77 in four seasons (2012-13 to 2015-16).

Coles will meet with the Braves on Thursday at noon in the Talawanda cafeteria.
