Another of the area’s top running backs came off the board late last month when Mason’s Matt Sora verbally committed to Indiana State, an FCS team in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Sora is the second Comet senior to commit, joining tight end Christian Hutchinson (Navy)…

Xavier Peters, a four-star linebacker from Lakota West, also made an Independence Day announcement, but it remains to be seen if his commitment to Kentucky sticks.

The tweet explaining his decision has been deleted, and his most recent message as of this writing read, “I still have to sit down and think about some things.”

Antwuan Johnson, a three-star linebacker who recently transferred to Wayne, told Scout.com he is looking at making a decision in the middle of the season.

That will give him a chance to take officials visits.

The former Michigan commit plans to visit Purdue and Cincinnati (where former Warriors linebacker Marcus Freeman is the defensive coordinator) this summer and also has Louisville, Kentucky and Syracuse in the mix, among others…

Speaking of Wayne, Warriors receiver L’Christian “Blue” Smith was among the select group of 2018 prospects who made the trip to Oregon over the weekend to take part in The Opening.
