Women's soccer: Senior midfielder Lauren Rose (Lakota West) helped Thomas More capture its sixth straight Presidents' Athletic Conference championship and advance to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16.
Rose was the third-leading scorer for the Saints (22-1-1) with 23 points on seven goals and nine assists. Thomas More’s season ended Nov. 19 with a 3-1 loss to Chicago in Whitewater, Wis.
Rose was named to the PAC first team and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Great Lakes Region second team.
• Senior defender Michelle Brunswick (Madison) was a key figure in Wittenberg’s run to the NCAA Division III tournament, where the Tigers (13-5-2) lost to Nazareth 2-1 in the first round.
Brunwick scored five goals this season. Two were game-winners.
She earned first-team honors from the North Coast Athletic Conference, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Great Lakes Region and the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (Division III All-Ohio).
Men's cross country: Shawnee State sophomore David Jaeger (Lakota East) was named to the Mid-South Conference first team and also earned a spot on the MSC All-Academic squad.
The Bears advanced to the NAIA national meet on Nov. 19 in Elsah, Ill., and finished 10th. Jaeger led Shawnee by placing 29th in 25:24.6.
Football: Wilmington junior defensive tackle Darren Milligan (Carlisle) was an honorable-mention selection in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Milligan was the fourth-leading tackler for the Quakers, who finished 0-10. He had 43 total tackles (25 solos, 18 assists).
Women's tennis: Junior Brooke Broda (Lakota West) led Notre Dame in doubles wins with a 9-3 record this fall, and she was second in singles victories with a 6-2 mark.
The Fighting Irish will host Western Michigan and Wright State on Jan. 22.
