Women's gymnastics: Bowling Green sophomore Kayla Rose (Fairfield) shared the floor exercise title at the Mid-American Conference Championships on March 18 at BGSU's Stroh Center.
Rose, who earned a spot on the all-tournament team, and Central Michigan’s Macey Hilliker walked away as co-champions after posting identical 9.95 scores in the event.
Ball State senior Kayla Beckler (Lakota West) competed in two events, finishing eighth on the uneven bars (9.85) and 21st in the floor exercise (9.825).
Eastern Michigan was the team champion with a 196.500 total, while Bowling Green was second (196.400) and Ball State was seventh (194.750). It was BGSU’s best team finish since 1987, and the Falcons’ point total was the second-best in school history.
Men's golf: Wright State junior Chris Rossi (Fairfield) took 11th place in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville (Tenn.) Golf Club on March 19-21.
Rossi shot a 2-over-par total of 75-71-72—218 and was the No. 2 golfer for the Raiders behind senior Ryan Wenzler (74-67-68—209).
Carson-Newman topped the nine-team field. WSU tied for fifth place.
The Raiders will host the Wright State Invitational on April 3-4 at Miami Valley Golf Club.
Men's lacrosse: Senior midfielder Ryan Gombita (Lebanon) has eight goals and one assist for Otterbein, which is 3-5 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
The Cardinals will visit Wooster on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
