Adleman, 30, spent the last two seasons with the Reds, going 9-15 with a 4.97 ERA in 43 games. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound right-hander made 33 starts for Cincinnati.

With the experienced gained last season by young starters Tyler Mahle, Luis Castillo, Sal Romano and Robert Stephenson and getting back veterans Homer Bailey, Anthony DeSclafani and Brandon Finnegan from injury, the Reds will have lots of options for their starting rotation.
Adleman signed a one-year deal with the Lions worth a reported $1.05 million.
The Reds 40-man roster is at 39.
