Lt. Jim Cunningham said he knows that stores and employees have taken training and have extra precautions in place concerning robberies.
“They need to stay alert and take precautions,” he said.
Police were still looking Tuesday for the suspect in the Middletown robbery. Detectives told this news outlet they are working to obtain images from the store’s surveillance video.
Pharmacists in Middletown and Hamilton contacted by this new outlet said they “take precautions” to prevent the theft of prescription narcotics, a problem that has grown with the region’s heroin epidemic.
“Give them anything they want. I don’t want to get shot,” said a Hamilton pharmacist, who did not want to be identified.
