Five of the puppies found shelter in a back yard on old furniture cushions, but three were still on the side of the road when the dog wardens arrived.
“They had been neglected before they were dumped. They were covered with feces and some of them have rickets,” said Kurt Merbs, dog warden supervisor.
The 4-month-old dogs were given a bath and food and are now “loving life” at the the Animal Friends Humane Society, Merbs said.
Anyone with information about the puppies is asked to call Merbs at 513-785-6542.
