Power has been restored in most of Liberty Twp.

Duke Energy spokesman Lee Freedman said crews are still on the scene investigating the exact cause of the Liberty Twp. power outage earlier today. Freedman said Duke was able to reroute power to the area so that service could be restored to nearly 4,000 commercial and residential customers, including a school and hospital.

Power has been restored to most of Liberty Twp., according to Duke Energy officials.

Spokesman Lee Freedman said he has not received a report about why power went out for nearly 4,000 customers.

There is a section of nearly 30 customers remaining without power in a residential area on Birch Creek Court, Maple Creek Drive, and Spruce Creek Drive in Liberty Twp. Power has been out in that area since 9:46 a.m. today. Duke Energy’s website said the outage was caused by required equipment maintenance.

UPDATE @ 2:54 p.m.

Lee Freedman, a Duke Energy spokesman, said the outage was first reported at 2:10 p.m. today.

He said crews are still trying to determine the cause of the outage and had no other information available.

The utility’s website indicated that crews are en route to address the power outage with an estimated restoration time of 4:30 p.m. today.

Duke Energy is assessing what caused an outage in Liberty Twp. that has nearly 4,000 customers without power this afternoon.

The area without power includes the commercial area along Cincinnati-Dayton Road, Lakota East High School and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s Liberty Campus. The affected area boundaries are from Ohio 129 on the south, Mauds Hughes Road on the west, Milikin Road to the north and Butler Warren Road to the west.
