Monroe closes Todhunter Road for sewer repairs

The city of Monroe has closed Todhunter Road between Britton Lane and Yankee Road to through traffic starting today until further notice.

This closure is necessary for the emergency repair of a large diameter sanitary sewer by Butler County Water and Sewer crews.

City officials said the problem area has been secured with road plates and access to all properties in the affected area will remain open as well as emergency vehicles will be able to travel this area as necessary.

Public Works Director Dan Arthur said that the Monroe Local Schools the bus garage to request all pass through busing in the other direction for the time being. He also requested Duke Energy to route their trucks to the east down Todhunter Road.
