Mason grad dies in accident at college track event: A Mason High School graduate and freshman at Wheaton College died in an accident while volunteering at a track and field event.

It happened late Saturday afternoon at the college near Chicago. Ethan Roser, 19, was struck during the hammer throw event in which competitors throw a weighted, tethered iron ball, Wheaton College released in a statement.

Boy, 10, starts fire at Family Dollar, police say:

Middletown police charged a 10-year-old boy with aggravated arson after he allegedly started a fire that caused more than $200,000 in damages to a business Sunday.

A fire was reported at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Family Dollar, 3238 Roosevelt Blvd. The Middletown fire department arrived and extinguished the fire and cleared the large amount of smoke from the business, police said.
