Duplex severely damaged by fire in Franklin

UPDATE @ 7:10 a.m.

Firefighters said fire caused extensive damage to a duplex on Highridge Court in Franklin Tuesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Highridge Court around 6:10 a.m. after neighbors reported seeing heavy smoke and flames from the duplex.

Franklin Fire Chief Jonathan Westendorf said all occupants were able to evacuate the structure before firefighters arrived on scene.

Westendorf said damage to the duplex is extensive and will displace residents from both sides.

The cause of the blaze is unknown and still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters in Franklin have responded to a reported house fire on Highridge Court Tuesday morning.

Crews were dispatched shortly before 6:10 a.m. and reported flames through the roof when they arrived on scene.

It wasn’t immediately known if the house was occupied or not.
