Butler County United Way brings national conference to southwest Ohio

Butler County United Way is proud to be the host of the 2017 Andar/360 Users Group Conference, held May 1-5 at the Great Wolf Lodge. This year's conference is expected to bring over 250 users of the Andar/360 database software system to the area. Attendees will not only gain valuable knowledge of the software in various workshops throughout the week, but in their down time, they'll also get a taste of why so many people love to call southwest Ohio home.

"This has been a big undertaking for our seven-person staff, especially when our usual day-to-day focus is to connect and mobilize resources to improve the lives of Butler County residents," said Mag Baker, president and CEO of Butler County United Way. "But to be able to bring hundreds of people into our community to enjoy our many amazing restaurants and entertainment venues is sure to have a positive effect on our local economy."

Butler County United Way has been committed to strengthening the community it has served for more than 95 years. To be awarded the honor of hosting this annual, national event is a huge compliment. With over 100 United Way organizations located in surrounding states, the location of the conference, which is supported through both sponsorship dollars and attendee registration fees, is convenient and economical for many attending the event.

What is Andar/360?

Developed by Canadian-based Helix Ltd., Andar/360 is an enterprise-wide customer relations and donor management system with a strong focus on workplace giving. Both large and small United Way organizations across the country and in Canada have chosen this software as their donor management system. The annual users’ conference provides valuable training, networking, and best practice sharing opportunities between participants.

“The Andar/360 software system was actually built with United Way in mind as a great tool for managing donor information and intent,” said Pam Cottle, director of marketing and communications and database manager for Butler County United Way. “For example, donors may want their donation to go to a specific organization that we partner with and for whom they have a passion. This software allows us to appropriately track that donation and ensure those dollars are allocated where the donor intended.”

Topping off a fun week at Top Golf

The week-long conference will begin with two days of in-depth, hands-on training of the various software modules in the Andar/360 system. The remaining three days of the conference will feature shorter overview sessions designed to give users a taste of how the software can be used to impact their United Way organizations. Sessions will include topics such as web customization, finance best practices, and an IT roundtable.

On Thursday night, conference attendees will have the opportunity to blow off a little steam and interact with one another in a less-formal setting at Top Golf in West Chester Township.

“We are incredibly honored to have the opportunity to host Andar/360’s annual conference this year,” said Cottle. “It’s a proud moment for us at Butler County United Way and an equally proud moment for our region.”
