No more room at Butler County heroin event

Space at a fre event this week to discuss heroin in Butler County is at capacity.

A panel of experts will discuss the ravages of the heroin epidemic during a program in West Chester Twp. this week, and organizers have informed the Journal-News that there are no seats left for the event.

“Through Our Eyes – Report from the Front Lines” will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, at the Miami University Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester Twp.

Panelists, in addition to Jones and Mannix include Joel Herzog, West Chester Twp. Police Chief; Rick Prinz, West Chester Twp. Fire Chief; Troy Bonfield, West Chester Twp. Fire Captain; Matthew Himm, person in recovery; Lori Higgins, President, Envision Partnerships; Dr. Elizabeth LeeNellett, Medical Director, West Chester Hospital Emergency Department and Scott Rasmus, executive director of the Butler County Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Services Board.

The program is presented by the Caring Community Collaborative (C3), a local non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life in the area.
