Fairfield Twp. taking resumes for fiscal officer after official’s death

Fairfield Twp.’s assistant fiscal officer will serve as deputy fiscal officer until an appointment can be made, township trustees decided Friday.

Fairfield Twp. trustees appointed Patty Moore just two days after longtime fiscal officer Nancy Bock died.

INITIAL REPORT: Longtime Fairfield Twp. fiscal officer Nancy Bock, 60, dies

Moore was promoted from a part-time employee to a full-time position in the township’s fiscal office in September 2016.

The board of trustees will take applications from residents to serve out the remaining time on Bock’s term. The fiscal officer position is up for election in November 2019.

Bock was first elected to the position in 1999 and has been re-elected ever since. She was last re-elected in 2015.

Those interested should send a letter, resume and application (available on the township website) to: Fairfield Twp. Administration Building, Attention: Board President Susan Berding, 6032 Morris Road, Fairfield Twp., Ohio 45011.

Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12.

Bock died at her home Wednesday and is survived by her husband, Doug, her three children and three grandchildren. A visitation for Bock has been set for 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Avance Funeral Home on Winton Road in Fairfield, according to township officials. A funeral service is set to start at 7 p.m.

“We all should keep the family in our prayers during the difficult time,” Berding said.

“We are truly devastated by the loss of Nancy Bock,” Fairfield Twp. Trustee Shannon Hartkemeyer said. “She has been a key player in Fairfield Twp. operations for many years. Her legacy will continue. Our township staff will honor her memory by rising to the occasion and continue to do great things for the community.”
