The man ran away, he said.
Employees also called police on Wednesday night stating a man was in the store and casing the pharmacy, according to a police report.
“There are apparently several groups doing this as a way to make money,” Reeve said. He added the robbers are going into stores and watching employees and activity before making attempts.
All are passing similar notes requesting specific medication, not cash, he said.
While most do not display a gun, there are threats made to the employees.
“It is scary. They don’t know if they have a gun or not,” Reeve said. “We have seen pictures on social media of guys standing with their gun in front of a CVS.”
