Middletown police investigating 2 stabbings

Middletown police are investigating two separate stabbings that sent victims to the hospital over the weekend.

On Saturday, police responded to a home in the 100 block of Grimes Street and found a man lying in the living room with two stab wounds in his back. He was transported to Atrium Medical Center.

The victim apparently had been arguing with Richard Sanders, the report said. Sanders was charged with felonious assault and his pocket knife was confiscated.

Middletown police then responded to the area of Ohio 122 and Interstate 75 on Sunday afternoon on a report of an accident with injuries.

They found a man lying on the roadway who had been stabbed in his left torso, the report said. The victim told police he was stabbed in the area of Baltimore Street and Fourteenth Avenue.

Another man told police that after the stabbing, he helped the victim get in his car so he could drive him to Atrium Medical Center. While driving to the hospital, the man hit a guardrail. Police tried to speak to the victim at the hospital, but he was uncooperative, the report said.
