Man, previously deported, arrested on drug charges

A man who officials say was deported more than once from the United States was arrested Wednesday on drug charges and child endangering, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Julio Cesar Ledesma-Sanchez, 30, is charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, first-degree felonies; failure to comply with order or signal, third-degree felony; two counts of misdemeanor child endangering and resisting arrest, also a misdemeanor.

Ledesma-Sanchez was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force and the DEA after deputies attempted to stop him at Ohio 4 and Muhlhauser Road in Fairfield, according to the sheriff’s office.

Ledesma-Sanchez fled from the moving vehicle leaving it in drive with two young children inside. The vehicle rolled approximately 100 feet and came to rest in a ditch.

Ledesma-Sanchez was later located by a Butler County Sheriff’s Office K9 Team and taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit with assistance from West Chester and Fairfield Police.

The children in the vehicle were unharmed and released to a family member, according to the sheriff’s office.

A search warrant conducted in Hamilton County related to the case netted more than two pounds of cocaine, 12 pounds of marijuana and $9,00 cash. This is the third time Ledesma-Sanchez has been in the United States illegally, he has been deported on two prior occasions, according to the sheriff’s office.

“I will continue to fight for border security to keep this poison off our streets. This is a dangerous illegal who demonstrated he has no concerns for the safety of his children and is clearly a threat to our society. The system is broken and we need to fix it. Hopefully, this will be strike three and he is out of the U.S. for good,” said Sheriff Richard Jones.
