Fairfield police say woman in black robbed Dollar General

Fairfield police are looking for a woman dressed in black that robbed the Dollar General at 4106 Pleasant Ave. on Sunday night. It was the third reported robbery in the area in the last three weeks.

According to police, the incident at Dollar General took place Sunday night shortly before 9 p.m. when the woman entered the store and demanded money.

“A bit before 9 p.m., a female dressed in all black, with a black face mask on and sunglasses went into the Dollar General and demanded money from the clerk,” police told the Journal-News. “The female suspect implied she had a gun.”

A police dog was brought to the scene, and the area was canvassed for the woman, but officers only found $48 and the sunglasses that the woman was wearing during the robbery. Surveillance video is also being analyzed to help identify her.

“At this time that is the only amount of money that was recovered, and it has not been determined how much money was actually taken,” police said. “And no person of interest has been identified at this time.”

Police are also still looking for the person who robbed a business and a person at the Fuel Mart at 5085 Pleasant Ave. just before 11 a.m. on Oct. 25 as well as the person who committed another robbery that occurred at Dollar General on Oct. 17.
