Car ‘full of blood’ caller tells dispatcher

A 911 caller described a gruesome scene outside a Hamilton home where a man was found stabbed to death in October.

Joshua Combs’ death was ruled a homicide by police, and a trial date was set this week for the man accused in the crime. Combs’ body was found Oct. 29 at his Cereal Avenue residence.

“The guy right across the street, we haven’t seen him for a few days,” a caller told a 911 dispatcher. “But (the landlord) noticed that the front seat of his car was full of blood — a lot of blood.”

Combs was “stabbed numerous times in the head and neck,” according to court documents recently obtained by this news outlet.

“I said (to the landlord) you have two choices — you can go home and get your keys and come back, or call the police,” the 911 caller told the dispatcher.

Police and prosecutors say Donald Anthony Moss Jr. dragged Combs’ body from his Honda Pilot to the home’s kitchen and then covered it with a blanket.

Moss, 30, of Webster Street, faces charges of murder and tampering with evidence in the homicide.

A March trial date was set this week for Moss, who remains in the Butler County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond.

Moss is also charged in a robbery that occurred Oct. 29 at Riverview Market.

Moss entered the store on North B Street with a pellet gun and demanded money and cigarettes, according to prosecutors.

“This guy is a desperate and dangerous criminal that our officers tracked and chased down,” Hamilton Police Chief Craig Bucheit said in November after Moss’ arrest.
