Arrest made in Middletown convenience store robbery

Middletown police have charged a suspect in the robbery of a convenience store earlier this week.

Dimitri Hubbard, 33, is charged with aggravated robbery, according to Middletown Lt. Scott Reeve.

The arrest comes one day after the police department released a description and photo of a suspect who robbed Willa D’s on Yankee Road Wednesday evening.

Police said Hubbard was dressed in black as he robbed the convenience store on Wednesday after brandishing a firearm, pointing it at the clerk and demanding money.

Video surveillance aided in identifying Hubbard, police said.

Hubbard was convicted of a similar crime in 2006 and was sent to prison, according to police. He was released in August.

Police said in 2003, Hubbard was wearing a black mask and clothing when he shot a man at a barber shop on Eighth Avenue while attempting to rob him.
