8 ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Butler County

Grab your green attire, perhaps a green beer, and join in on one of these St. Patrick’s Day events taking place this weekend in Butler County:

Irish stout at Municipal Brew Works: Municipal Brew Works, located at 20 High St. in Hamilton, kicks off its St. Patrick's Day festivities at 11 a.m. Friday. Part of the fun will be an Irish stout tapping and food trucks, including a pie food truck from Hyde's Restaurant. Hyde's plans to make its famous banana cream pies tinted green to celebrate the day. Plus, there will be live music by The Yada, Yada, Yadas.

Ryan's Tavern starts the party at dawn: Start your St. Patrick's Day early at this well-known authentic Irish pub. Ryan's Tavern, 241 High St. in Hamilton, will begin serving green eggs and ham at 7 a.m. The pub's live entertainment includes Celtic dancers, bag pipers and music throughout the day.

Irish-inspired menu at Rivertown Brewery: An Irish-inspired menu and live music complement the St. Patrick's Day beer specials at Rivertown Brewery & Barrel House in Monroe. The festivities will start bright and early at 7 a.m. at 6550 Hamilton Lebanon Road. The Monroe Barrel House's menu Friday will include Irish stew, deep fried pierogies, Reuben roll wontons, a Rueben sandwich, corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie and bangers.

Kegs 'n' Eggs to start the day at Dingle House: Kegs 'n' Eggs kicks off St. Patrick's Day at the Dingle House in West Chester Twp. Start your day at 8 a.m. with breakfast and stay for the live music that starts at 11 a.m. There will also be bagpipers and Irish dancers to entertain you while you chow down on food specials and the traditional St. Paddy's Day green beer. Dingle House is located at 9102 West Chester Towne Center Drive.

Irish dancers, Celtic Music at Trinity Gastro Pub: Head over to Trinity Gastro Pub for a variety of Irish food and beer, an Irish band and Irish dancers. Located at 8953 Princeton Glendale Road in West Chester Twp., the party starts at 4 p.m. The Irish dancers will perform starting at 7:30 p.m., and Green Key Celtic Music plays from 8 to 11 p.m.

Extra space to party in Middletown: The designated area in Middletown where you can buy an alcoholic drink and walk around with it outdoors is extending its hours for St. Patrick's Day. Starting at 8 a.m., revelers will be able enjoy alcoholic beverages outside, which will then conclude at 2 a.m. on March 18.

Celebrate while you shop in Fairfield: Celebrate St. Patrick's weekend during "Celebration of the Green" at Venice Pavilion Antique Mall in Fairfield. Shoppers can take advantage of sales, win door prizes and enjoy refreshments. The event is taking place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 18, and Sunday, March 19. Venice Pavilion Antique Mall is located at 4299 Hamilton Cleves Road.

Block party with live music after Shamrock Shuffle: Registration has ended for this year's Shamrock Shuffle on Saturday, March 18, at The Square @ Union Centre in West Chester Twp. But you can still celebrate St. Patrick's Day during the block party, complete with live music and performances, until noon. Run participants can head over to the newly-added beer obstacle course for even more fun, and likely a few laughs.
